Natural Ways to Cleanse Your Skin

It seems that with every cleanser we buy on the shelves, there are more and more ingredients we can’t pronounce nor understand how it helps our skin. There are countless fluorescently colored products that look pretty but who knows what kind of chemicals were used to create that shade of pink or blue. These chemicals could not be helping our skin as much as we’d hoped for.

Lucky for you, we found some natural remedies that can assist you with your skin cleansing routine!

  • Coconut Oil: While maintaining your skin’s natural oils, coconut oil contributes to get rid of shine and opens up your pores to release trapped moisture that accumulated throughout the day. Simply rub a quarter-sized amount of coconut oil onto your face and massage for 30 seconds. Use a warmed towel and place over your face to open up the pores, then after a minute pat dry with a towel.
  • Honey and Lemon: This is the perfect cleanser combination to kill acne and dull complexion. Honey is rich in natural antibacterial and antioxidants, and lemon has citric acid that also assists with acne prevention. Mix 2 teaspoons of honey with one teaspoon of lemon and apply a thin layer onto the face. Wait until dry about ten minutes then rinse off with warm water!
  • Yogurt: Not many people realize, but plain yogurt has great components to help exfoliate our face and get rid of dead skin cells. Lactic acid and protein work together to shed the skin of the dead skin cells then tighten the pores to hydrate. Applying a thin layer of plain yogurt to cleanse the skin of dirt and makeup two or three times a week!
  • Olive Oil: A typical cooking ingredient surprisingly can help you with daily moisturizing! The antioxidants and healthy fats can revive and cleanse your skin to get rid of dark spots and bacteria. Make a simple cleanser night mask by mixing ½ cup of olive oil, ¼ cup vinegar and water. Apply to your face and rinse off in the morning with lukewarm water.
